Conn-Selmer honors Japanese distributor Nonaka Boeki with presentation of 700,000th Bach Stradvarius trumpet
11 September 2012
On Thursday, September 7th, Conn-Selmer honored its exclusive Japanese Vincent Bach distributor Nonaka Boeki with a presentation of the 700,000th Bach Stradivarius trumpet. The 700,000th serial number instrument was built at the Bach plant in June and was held for the special presentation in front of the entire manufacturing team.
John Nonaka, owner of Nonaka Boeki; and Koki Shiseki, Nonaka’s brass specialist; were in attendance for the reception to receive the instrument. The presentation of this instrument to Nonaka not only represents a milestone of over 700,000 Bach Stradivarius instruments being built since the start of the company in 1918, but also honors the upcoming start of the 60th anniversary of the founding of Nonaka Boeki in 1953.
“Nonaka’s business represents a significant portion of Bach manufacturing,” says John Stoner, President of Conn-Selmer. “It was an honor for the entire manufacturing group to celebrate this occasion with a customer they’ve processed orders for but never had the chance to meet in person. The partnership between Nonaka Boeki and Conn-Selmer has been critical to our improvements in quality and service. We look forward to continuing our work with him on new projects for years to come.”
The celebration for Nonaka was held in the Bach manufacturing plant with a catered luncheon for the entire staff. The plant was decorated throughout with signage and balloons to honor the special occasion. For more information on Nonaka Boeki, visit www.nonaka.com.
